Education and human capacity building has always been part of the social responsibility of Mobil Producing Nigeria(MPN), operator of its joint venture (JV) with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Through this venture, they award annual scholarships to Nigerian students.

Nonetheless, the scholarships they award are in levels but for the purpose of this article,

we will focus more on the undergraduate scholarship but will mention other types of scholarships sponsored by MPN.

That being said, MPN awards four types of scholarships namely:

The NNPC/MPN JV scholarship  is otherwise known as the ExxonMobil scholarship.

This scholarship is orinally for one year but its renewable for the duration of the recipient study years.

This is solely dependent on the student academic performance.

Through this award, the NNPC/MPN joint venture assist the federal government of Nigeria in the training and development meaningful manpower.

This process also serve as avenue through which the company recruit new talent into their workforce.

Nonetheless, this is no guarantee the ExxonMobil will offer any form of employment to recipients of this scholarship upon graduation.
