Schools have to put in place some preventive measures to help curb the spread of the virus. Thus, setting up some of these facilities cost money.
That is where the HEERF Emergency Grants comes into play.

What is the emergency solutions grant program?
If you are asking What is the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF)? just know that you are not alone.
I have seen students who don’t have a clue what the emergency solutions grant program is about.
This is a program esterblished by the federal government to provide the U.S department of education with relief funds that is to be distributed to colleges and universities in the country.
The essence of this fund is to help colleges and universities prevent, prepare and respond to the impacts of covid19.
This Emergency grant funds can help students pay educationally related expenses including tuition, fees, and books, as well as expenses for childcare, course materials, rent, food, moving or other expenses.
Thus, there are 3 phases of HEERF Emergency Grant;
Nonetheless,in heerf ii emergency grant application, UTA has received funds through HEERF I, established by the CARES Act in March 2020;
HEERF II, established by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act in Dec. 2020; and HEERF III, established by the American Rescue Plan in March 2021.

How can I apply for a HEERF Emergency Grant?
To be considered for a scholarship, eligible students must complete an online application form located in their MyMav account.
Click on the thumbnail “MyForms” on the UTA student Homepage in MyMav and then on the “Fill out new form” button.
Applicants can apply to the University of Texas through its designated application portal or through the Common Application.
Students need to fill a FAFSA application form to apply and be considered for the grant.

How will UTA disburse the funds?
The rewards are paid out as part of the regular student reimbursement process.
With the consent of the beneficiary, the funds can pay out any existing credit.
On the HEERF Emergency Grant application, students state whether they want to pay the current remaining amount they owe UTA or whether they want to refund the funds directly to them.
All refunds are made either by direct deposit into the recipient’s personal bank account or through the check refund method registered with UTA.

Will everyone who applies receive a HEERF Emergency Grant?
No. Although generous, the amount of scholarships awarded to UTA is insufficient to support all students.
UTA follows the federal funding criteria. Students must demonstrate exceptional financial needs in order to be considered.
We have developed a plan to help as many students as possible while providing a significant amount.
Students with the highest financial needs are given preferential treatment.
If I receive a HEERF Emergency Grant, am I eligible to receive additional HEERF-funded grants for future semesters?
Yes. Based on available funding, eligible students will be able to apply for HEERF Emergency Grant funds at the beginning of each semester (Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022).
