The acceptance rate at Lehigh University is 50%.  It ranks as the 12th lowest acceptance rate in Pennsylvania.  Lehigh is a more competitive school for admission with a good chance of acceptance for qualified applicants. 

Last year, 6,138 out of 12,389 applicants were accepted. The school has extremely high SAT and ACT admission requirements, usually accepting students in the top 13% (SAT 1260/1433 ACT 29/33).

What Is Lehigh University Transfer Acceptance Rate?

With a transfer acceptance rate of 32 percent, Lehigh University has the 8th lowest acceptance rate in Pennsylvania.  This means that only 32 people out of every 100 applications are accepted, making Lehigh’s admissions process difficult.

What GPA Do I Need To Get Into Lehigh University?

With a GPA of 3.85, Lehigh University requires you to be near the top of your class and well above average.  Your transcription should contain mostly fives.  Ideally, you should also take a few AP or IB courses to show that you can handle college-level science.

If you’re a current junior or senior, it’s difficult to change your GPA in time for college.  If your GPA is at or below the 3.85 high school average, you will need a higher SAT or ACT score to make up for it.  This will help you compete effectively with other applicants who have higher GPAs than you.

Lehigh has two admissions processes: Early Decision I and Early Decision II.  Early Decision applicants are accepted at a higher rate than Regular Decision applicants.  Lehigh’s overall acceptance rate for the Class of 2024 was 49.5%, and the early decision acceptance rate was 72%.

Applying for Early Decision can significantly improve your chances of admission, but it’s not for everyone.  Both Early Decision I and Early Decision II are required at Lehigh, and by applying to ED, you commit to attending the university if accepted. 

Applying to ED is best for students who are absolutely sure they want to attend Lehigh and can afford it — because you’re committing to attend, you can’t compare financial aid packages to other schools.
